There was so much of “noise” in the pre-election. Every corner you turn, people will be on some election topics, either about the candidates, the ceramah, the youtube, the Malaysiakini, the Malaysia-Today, Pak Lah, Najib, MCA, MIC, Samy,. There seems to be no end of it. Then came D-Day. The excitement, then the shock. Now that it’s all over, what’s next.
You’ll still hear of the political tsunami, the swing over to opposition, the call for Pak Lah to step down, the amonition of the votes given the oppositions, the justification the reasoning, etc
It is the 3rd day after election. Some how I think there is a tint of uncertainty despite of the gladness for the 5 opposition states. The talk start to swing towards if the opposition has sufficient plan & strategy to hold the fort, especially the DAP who probably never anticipated such a happening (I don’t consider this as victory yet). Well, I personally think it is not a victory. Just as Tun put it, it is not because the Rakyat is supporting the opposition but rather the disgust with BN/UMNO. Among the three opposition parties, PAS & PKR will have the experience of real State management. While Anwar summon his men, given them a clear reminder briefing of the party mandate, set the ground rules of no selling of existing cars to the outgoing MB/ministers, no new cars for the new MBs/ministers, no renovation of office, indirectly gaining more ongoing voters still; PAS also went on to work, establishing their ground rules & etc. What did DAP do ? A small pocket of them unable to agree among themselves to work with other races ( I thought it suppose to be not race base ?), the new CM went on to nullify all existing summons issued prior to election, etc. My of my, are you beginnig to loose voters for the next election already ? what is your priority, where is your principles, what kind of government & what is the message you are sending to the people who voted for you ? Are you too caught up with the euphoric of gaining 5 states ? Opposition parties, or is it more of DAP, you better be mindful that gaining 5 states is but just at the start line, the start of the race, not even the 1st step. It is certianly not victory until and unless by the end of 5 years, you not only have the voters who voted for you last Sat but more and post a strong presence to BN/UMNO. Else you will be a great laughing stock in the history.
In the past few months, I have close to ten (10) friends spreading their wings out of Malaysia. The reason is very obvious & understandable. As a headhunter I have this request very often : do you have anything Singapore/Australia ?
I can hear some of you so ready to point finger & judge. Just take a deep breathe and a have a read on Life As A Malaysian (taken from Malaysiantalk.com) and Does it make any sense ?…. (you will need to subscribe & login to read past postings).
For those who is seeking a simple open door so that they can get a head start of their dream to spread their wings across the crossway, here is your opportunity. I have just received this request from my client this afternoon .
