Personally, I am not a pork lover. It will not affect me if Malaysia were to rule “NO POK” from this day forward. On the other hand, neither will I protest & leave the dinner table should there be “POK” dish on the table. But this is “entertaining” :p from Aisehman’s blog titled - Membabi Buta. Have a read.

CV, resume is more than just what meets the reader’s eyes. It speaks of many aspects of a candidate apart from working experience. It tells of a person’s thought pattern, attitude, maturity, personality, command of English, communication skills, the person’s passion on what he/she does, how serious this person is taking his job & interest in growth,…..The list goes on & on & on.
Yes, it’s just like a well thought of, designed, prepared marketing brochure or commercial, it sells “You”. How often you saw a commercial and you go ”Wow, that is a brilliant ad”. Is your CV/resume doing the same to the HR or the hiring manager ? Did it open or shut the door for you ?
So, CV/Resume is certainly worth all your time and effort to prepare it. At times, it may be even necessary to prepare CV for specific line of job that you want to move into. So often, I received CVs/resumes in Jobstreet format. Nothing wrong with that. It just doesn’t come across as good as a personally prepared & written CV if you are an experience hire. Most people will opt for jobstreet format simply because it is convenient. Question : is your career a career of convenient ?
It is also common for candidate to prepare CV which is just information dump. What do I mean ? Well, you decided that it’s time to start exploring, thus the need of updating CV. What he/she does is just dump everything and anything into the CV and expect whoever the reader is to sort it out & digest him/herself.
Well, if you wish your CV to open door to MNCs, or a good international company for a good position you are eyeing, please respect the company/position/vacancy, respect your career and put serious effort in writing your marketing brochure, your commercials.
